[edit] Release 2.0

This release introduces water as a new resource. Also it is possible to build bridges across rivers. The file format used to save games changed, data is written to ~/.lincity-ng/ now, but you can still continue old games.

Note: To use the Japanese translation you have to copy or symlink a font with Japanese characters to fonts/sans-ja_JP.ttf.

[edit] Generic Linux x86 Installer

We have an automatic installer created with Autopackage. Just download it here:

  http://prdownload.berlios.de/lincity-ng/lincity-ng-2.0.x86.package

and execute it. You can find a more detailed explanation on the autopackage pages.

If autopackage can't find additional packages, download the package in question to the same directory as the Lincity-NG package or install it manually. Here are the links: [physfs] [sdl_gfx] [sdl_image] [sdl_ttf]

Note:

  • If you are using kde or artsd and the game crashs at startup, start the game like this from a console:

Bugfix: To prevent LincityNG from crashing when the population is down to zero (Bug #12684), replace data/gui/allgone.xml by allgone.xml from here:

[edit] Generic Linux x86 Installer

We have an automatic installer created with Autopackage. Just download it here:

  http://prdownload.berlios.de/lincity-ng/lincity-ng-1.1.2.x86.package

and execute it. You can find a more detailed explanation on the autopackage pages.

If autopackage can't find additional packages, download the package in question to the same directory as the Lincity-NG package or install it manually. Here are the links: [physfs] [sdl_gfx] [sdl_image] [sdl_ttf] Looks like autopackage gets confused by redirects at the moment. Sorry about that.

Note:

  • If you are using kde or artsd and the game crashs at startup, start the game like this from a console:
 SDL_AUDIODRIVER=dsp lincity-ng

[edit] Contributed Packages

These packages are not provided by the Lincity NG team. So if you have a problem with them, contact the package's maintainer first. Packages/Information about other systems are always appreciated. Please send proposals to lincity-ng-devel@lists.berlios.de or edit this page. Not all distributions always ship the latest version.

If you build a package for your distribution and discover a problem or even fix something in the process, please tell us about it. Other people might want that fixed, too and we can only fix stuff we know about. Same goes for bug reports you get via your distribution's bug tracker. Report them to upstream so we know about the problems our users have. Nothing more frustrating than a mail complaining about a problem they filed with their distro months ago but we hear about it the first time.
